Visit to a Lecture by Saitô Kôhei @ JKI Cologne

On December 9, 2024, the Japanese Studies Department at Frankfurt will attend a lecture by the renowned Japanese economic philosopher Saitô Kôhei.

The event will take place at the Japanese Cultural Institute (JKI) in Cologne. Before the lecture, it is likely that Thomas Golk, who works in public relations at the institute and has given several talks at the Japanese Studies Department in recent years, will provide a short guided tour of the institute.

The lecture itself will begin at 6:00 PM and is titled “Marx’s Communism in the Age of the Planetary Crisis.” During this event, hosted by the Erich Auerbach Institute for Advanced Studies, Saitô will discuss Marx’s concept of “degrowth communism.”
